We all claim to be lifelong fans of our clubs.

But for Leyton Orient supporter Lottie, there is really no doubting that statement.

She has been a fan of the Os for 45 years and counting.

The 84-year-old love affair with the club was ignited through her late husband, George, who followed the club for over 70 years.

Lottie’s admiration for the club never diminished after her husband died.

Even at her age, she can be seen on Saturday afternoons going up and down the country to support her beloved club.

En route to an away day

It would appear club comes before family for Lottie, as she admits in our mini documentary series Love of the Game that her children ‘never arrange anything for Saturday’.

Club captain, Jobi Mcanuff said: “Lottie is hard core, I think she’s part of the firm.

“Her dedication sees her follow the Orient home and away, and it appears she has become part of the furniture at the club.”

A favourite of players and management

When players arrive for games, Lottie is always there to greet them and give them a hug and a word of encouragement.

“People say why do the players always come and say hello to you? I say I don’t know!” she added.

Manager Justin Edinburgh had this to say of the super-fan: “She’s an amazing lady. She’s totally committed her life to Leyton Orient.

“That ladies face when you get off the coach is inspiring.”

Giving the boss some words of advice

Lottie’s dedication and loyalty has made her something of a twelfth member of the team.

She describes her addiction to the football by saying, “It’s in my blood now, I just can’t stop it.”
