Sergio Aguero faints in changing room at half-time during Argentina’s dramatic loss to Nigeria

Argentina have fanned the ‘one-man team’ fire with a loss to Nigeria.

Jorge Sampaoli’s men lost 4-2 in Krasnodar after going two-nil up as they were blown away in the second half as they had to make do without the rested Lionel Messi.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored a fantastic free-kick just before half-time before a brace from Alex Iwobi and a superb team goal capped off by Russian-born Brian Idowu ensured an impressive victory for Salisu Yusuf’s men.

Sergio Aguero was on the scoresheet to become Argentina’s outright third top scorer but the 29-year-old supposedly collapsed in the changing room at half-time.

TyC Sports are reporting that the Man City forward fainted and was subsequently taken to hospital for tests.

Aguero is said to have regained consciousness quickly and the situation is not thought to be serious.

Dario Benedetto replaced Aguero for the second half in which Argentina’s defence were overrun by Nigeria’s fluid attacking play.

Ever Banega had put his country one-nil up with a free-kick from the egde of the box before Aguero doubled the lead with a simple tap-in.

However, Iwobi and co rallied, scoring three goals in ten minutes either side of the interval.

Those who claim Argentina team are a one-man side have had their theory galvanised as Sampaoli’s first loss as an international manager coincided with the absence of Messi.

The legendary No10 is the only goalscorer for Argentina is competitive fixtures in 2017 (other than own goal) and is planning to skip a few friendlies from now until the World Cup commences next summer.

Not going to lie, we have no idea what is going on hereEPA

As for Aguero, there is no indication yet that the events in Krasnodar will limit his involvement for Man City against Leicester on Saturday.
