Valencia are officially having one of the strangest seasons of all time

Valencia. Los Che.

This is David Silva, David Villa and Pablo Aimar’s club.

One of Spain’s most prestigious establishments who have always prided themselves on playing the beautiful game the beautiful way.

So this season really has bucked the trend.

Whilst they have almost perfected the art of not losing… they’ve simultaneously forgotten how to win too.

Yes no side has lost fewer games in La Liga than Valencia’s one, yet they almost incomprehensibly sit just three points above the relegation zone.

Why?

Well that’s because, after their bore 0-0 stalemate at Athletic Bilbao last night, they’ve taken their tally to a crazy eight draws from their 10 league games so far this season.

That’s eight draws, one win and one defeat.

In those 10 games, they’ve scored just seven times but conceded only eight too.

That record doesn’t stop at La Liga either, with Valencia also drawing two of their three Champions League games so far.

In this truly bizarre Spanish season to date which sees Espanyol and Alaves in the top four and Real Madrid languishing in ninth, this subplot might be the weirdest narrative of all.
