Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s sending off has just ruined your fantasy football hopes and dreams

Don’t you just hate it when you sign a brilliant bargain player for your fantasy football team, only for him to get sent off?

Yeah, we’re feeling that, especially right now.

That’s because Aaron Wan-Bissaka – AKA our favourite player in our Dream Team line-up at the moment – has just been sent off for Crystal Palace in their game against Liverpool.

Which means plenty of you are looking at -3 points right about now.

The young full-back slid-in on Salah as he went through on goal Leaving Michael Oliver with little choice but to send him off

Last week, we spoke at length about how Crystal Palace’s full-back sensation is nailed-on to become a fantasy football legend this season.

After all, he absolutely bossed Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon in Palace’s first game of the season last weekend, marking the young winger out of the game and earning himself 10 fantasy football points in the process.

And in today’s clash against Liverpool, it looked like he’d be enjoying a similarly excellent run-out.

That was until he got sent off on the 75th minute.

The youngster was having another brilliant game for the Eagles and perfectly justifying his place in our fantasy football team.

Plenty of you felt the same, no doubt, with over 2,500 of Dream Team managers transferring the £1.5m-rated defender in ahead of Game Week 2. Especially after we wrote this piece.

Sorry.

Still, we’re not going to hold a grudge, are we?

After all, this wonderkid’s remarkable rise is what we really should be talking about.

Did you know, for example, that he’s only been playing as a defender for about 18 months?

"We believe strongly in [Aaron's] ability," says Roy.

"We believe he'll get better & better. We're delighted with him."

That’s right, originally playing as a striker/winger as part of Palace’s youth set-up, it wasn’t until he was called-up to play in a first-team training session in the middle of the 2016/17 season that switched to full-back.

Charged with marking Wilfried Zaha in a practice match, it was then that he switched to the position full-time – and hasn’t looked back since.

Still, maybe transfer him out of your Dream Team for the next couple of matches, eh?
